Bulletproof....

Ok, Chris has got me back in the game!!!!
Lets BLOG!!!

So whats been happening since the last entry? For all my followers out there!!! (haha)

THE UPDATE:

I have found comfort in living on my own, I have also found a strange man urinating on my roof, I have found that drinking less than 5 days a week makes no difference than drinking 5 days week... that too much sodium in your diet really makes a difference to the way your body looks and feels, that Hyde Park is probably heaven to many people, that living in a very hip area equals no peace and quiet thursdays through sunday, that having one good friend is better than a million bad friends, that garlic is good on ANYTHING, that corriander is NOT, that having a canadian sticker on my car probably means people are more likely to let me cut them off without giving me the 'finger', that oatmeal for breaky is pretty damn good (especially with passionfruit), that Totem couldnt protect me to save her life, that American Dad is FUNNY!, that finishing my Masters is probably one of the HARDEST things I will ever do, and that red wine can still hold a pretty solid conversation! Oh, Shiraz... you always know how to make me laugh!!!

Ok, thats the update!

Love everyone! I'll be back again soon!

SEPTEMBER

Well, I'm back... its been a while since my last post... Since my last post, Ive completed a great trip around Canada, had a fabulous birthday in Las Vegas, came back to beautiful Sydney, moved house and am back to work. Most unhappily - back to work. With so much on the go with studie's work is really becoming a damn inconvinience! But hey, I guess the bills arent going to pay themselves!!!

Thanks to everyone who made my trip home memorable... who gave me love and made me feel special!!!!

Today is Thursday, and I am about to sign out of work early... to head down to the OPERA BAR on Sydney's harbour, it is + 30C outside (yes, it is ONLY spring here!) and we are going to enjoy a glass of wine in the sun!

Enjoy the fun photo of the fam, and a great shot of Mom and I!

Back home in Manitoba Canada... loving the time I've been spending with family and friends. Still suffering a bit of jet leg, but this is to be expected! Cant type much, gotta get to bed... strange occurances? My home town... is simply strange!!! Fun to come and visit, but the people drive SERIOUSLY SLOW!!!! Small towns, sheesh! Oh, and I'm sunburnt... :) Golden brown by tomorrow, thanks to the ozone layer I think! Ok nighty night! xoxoxo

LAX blows!

So here i sit at Los Angeles International airport... probably my 8th time here and its patheticness ceases to amaze me. You would think LAX would some how represent the glamour and fame of Hollywood, but it more closely reflects the demise of Hollywoods famous such as Britney, Paris, Lindsay and Mischa. Perhaps, LA is not glam at all... maybe its cursed? Well, I have approx 30 minutes until i board. A quick stop in Cow Town (calgary for my aussie followers), hopefully get to see Mom and Dana for a quick hug and some world famous A&W Onion Rings... and then next stop, final destination WINNIPEG!!!! Laura is picking me up from the airport! Very exciting... and then tomorrow Dad and my big bro Steven are picking me up from Laura's for a w/end of POOL PARTIES and Family Fun in Brandon (my home town). Did I mention this airport blows... so does this computer! Ok, gonna jet (literally).
LOVE YOU ALL... ESPECIALLY MY ONLY FOLLOWER!!! xoxoxox

Yoga time....

I'm celebrating starting yoga... I've been a faithful yogi of Bikram Yoga since early May! And I'm still going!!!! I cant believe it! And in fact, I would consider competing in Bikram comps... but maybe after my Master's is finished and maybe after I've been pracicing for long enough that I feel totally strong and secure in the 90 minute class!

I'm really looking forward to going back to Canada (5 more sleeps) and hopefully practicing some Bikram in Winnipeg, Calgary, Red Deer and LAS VEGAS!!! I hope to keep my routine up!

So what has changed since I've started Bikram you ask? I have more energy... I feel stronger in my self physically and mentally... I feel like I have a stronger immune system... I feel happier... I feel proud of myself for sticking with it... my legs and arms have less 'fat' on them... and I have back cleavage!!!! Wooop Wooop!

I hope to stay comitted to my yoga practice... and I hope that this blog will help me remember just how happy I am with this new part of my life, after only 2.5 months of starting!

5 MORE SLEEPS UNTIL CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The humourous side of Geriatric Psychiatry...

I just love this photo! It's my favorite and I use it in presenations that I give at work when ever possible. I dont know why I chose to put that up there, but that I was just thinking to myself about how much work I have yet to do before I graduate with my Masters in Geriatric Psychiatry. And sometimes people ask me why I would choose such a career... but this photo pretty much sums it up! Aaahhh, gotta love the oldies!!!!

8 more sleeps until Canada... I cant wait to go home and see everyone. My present mission is to dodge what ever virus is running through my team and friends at the moment. Swine flu perhaps? A cough, congestion, aches, headaches... and I've been off my food! You know if Brandi is unwell if she doesnt finish her dinner!!!! But fingers crossed my recent dedication to yoga is helping my immune system FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT off the bad guys!

Two elderly gentlemen are playing cards on Saturday evening as they have done for the past 35 years. Max, the older, had been having problems remembering what cards were what, and usually needed help from his wife. At the end of the card game Ed said to Max, "You did very good tonight. You didn't need any help at all. Why is that?"

Max replied, "Why ever since my wife sent me to that memory school,
I haven't had any problems at all."

“Memory school? What memory school?"

Max thought for a moment, "Oh, what's that flower that's red with thorns?
A really pretty flower...?"

"A rose?"

"Yeah...that's it!" Max turned to his wife and mumbled,
"Hey, Rose! What's the name of that memory school you sent me to?"

Totem is one happy girl....

Well, I've finished my move - in theory - I'm back where I started! But I'm back home with Totem. The move was smooth... odd how all of ones belongings can comfortably fit in a package of yellow garbage bags. Hmmm.... probably decreases the value of my many designer dresses and shoes! Oh well, it was probably the fastest move in (my) history.

Sunday night... have a bit of sorting to do... a bit of catch-up-cuddles with Totem, and only 10 MORE SLEEPS UNTIL I LEAVE FOR CANADA!

Good night followers of 'Prairie girl's strange world'....

ps. I'll try to start using spell check ;)
